Agentic AI - The legal dimension
What it is, and how to empower and protect your busines

Facilitated by:
- Harry Borovick, General Counsel, Luminance
The top three questions or themes explored in this session were…
- Effective governance of Agents – how can governance frameworks mitigate the problems of regulating AI agents which are inherently hard to govern given their objective to minimise human intervention?
- Ethical and Moral Frameworks – which frameworks should be applied to AI given the variability in moral and ethical standards across regions?
- What factors are important to consider when developing a strategic approach to global AI governance?

The top three things that attendees should take away from the session:
- The governance around AI Agents is even more complex and demands adaptation and innovation – given the autonomous, adaptable and goal-oriented nature of Agents, governance frameworks need to evolve to ensure that Agents operate within acceptable risk thresholds, with defining authority limitations and IT security considerations.
- The importance of layered AI governance - AI governance should be approached in layers, starting with ethical considerations, followed by applying general responsible AI principles (and stricter legislation), and finally, practical implementation of governance structures. Each layer builds upon the previous one to ensure comprehensive oversight and accountability.
- There are 10 key factors to consider when developing a strategic approach to AI governance – determining the value proposition, understanding whether a generalist vs specialist system is being considered, potential direct consumer interaction, geography, input data, legal enforcement frameworks, available budget, internal stakeholder mapping, quality of vendor, and the approach to change management.
